TREATMENT INFORMATION

Prior to procedure, we have a full consultation to discuss your skin concerns and treatment goals.

Your skin will be cleansed and topical anaesthetic applied to minimise discomfort during treatment. The SkinPen device is glided across the prepared treatment areas, adjusting the depth throughout the treatment according to indication. Immediately after the treatment, skin will feel taut and may be red.

The microneedling process is quick however please allow 1 hour for your appointment. You will be given post treatment directions, explained during the consultation.

This treatment is suitable for all skin types and tones.

You cannot have this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

It is very important that you avoid using retinoids (vitamin A) for 3-5 days prior to your treatment. If you have sensitive skin, we recommend stopping these products 7 days pre-treatment. It is also important to avoid intense sun exposure for 2 weeks pre-treatment, as well as any other skin, beauty or aesthetic treatments in the two weeks before prior.

The first two days post-treatment, the skin may feel taut and red. The skin may feel tender for a few days and you may notice mild swelling, particularly around the eyes.

Make up products should be avoided for the first 48 hours. Thereafter, dryness and flaking may occur.

Downtime does not typically last longer than 5-7 days.

A series of treatments every 4-6 weeks may be needed for desired results.
For maintenance, quarterly treatments are recommended.
